Matthew Kaiser and Jennifer Short to Present “Ethics of Corporate Investigations” in Tysons Corner Oct. 21

Matthew Kaiser and Jennifer Short are going to be presenting “Ethics of Corporate Investigations: Guidance for In-House Counsel” in Tysons Corner, Virginia on Oct. 21 from 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. This CLE has been approved for 2.0 hours of Virginia Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Credit in Ethics. Admission is free.

This program is designed to help in-house and outside counsel navigate the issues of professional responsibility that can arise when a company is conducting an internal investigation. Topics addressed included: communicating with executives, management, and employees about the investigation and the lawyer’s role; protecting privileged communications; handling a suspected whistleblower; and complying with a lawyer’s ethical duties in reporting or disclosing the results of an internal investigation.

Jennifer and Matt debuted this program Oct. 8 to a thoughtful and lively group of lawyers. The event took place at the Mason Enterprise Center in Fairfax, Virginia. Gisele Stolz, Director of the Mason Enterprise Business Accelerator program, hosted the event, which was co-sponsored by the Fairfax City Economic Development Office.
