Matt Kaiser Appointed Chair of Board on Professional Responsibility

Matt Kaiser has been appointed Chair of the Board on Professional Responsibility by the Board of Judges of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. Matt, the founding partner of KaiserDillon, has served on the Board for three years and been the Vice-Chair for the past year. He starts a new three-year term on August 1st.

The Board for the District of Columbia adjudicates cases of attorney misconduct and disability and has the responsibility of administering the attorney disciplinary system. The nine-member group reviews the recommendations of twelve standing Hearing Committees that consider evidence and witness testimony in public proceedings. The Board’s caseload also includes “cases referred by the Court of Appeals, including criminal conviction referrals, reciprocal discipline matters, petitions for negotiated discipline and petitions for reinstatement.”

The Board also works with an Executive Attorney to review rules, prepare annual budgets and technology initiatives, and develop training programs.
