Matt Kaiser Appointed to the ABA’s Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary

Partner Matt Kaiser has been appointed to the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary. The Committee plays the vital role of providing a non-partisan evaluation of the qualifications of each judicial nominee to the federal courts, including to the Supreme Court.

The Committee has one representative from each Circuit; Matt will serve as the representative for the D.C. Circuit.

Along with occasionally providing testimony at confirmation hearings, the Committee works “to support and encourage the selection of the best-qualified persons for the federal judiciary. It restricts its evaluation to issues bearing on professional qualifications and does not consider a nominee’s philosophy or ideology.”

Matt will begin this service in 2019.
