Emily Voshell to Coordinate KaiserDillon’s Pro Bono Efforts

Counsel Emily Voshell will coordinate KaiserDillon’s pro bono work, in addition to continuing her work representing clients.

“I am thrilled that Emily will be taking a leadership role in our pro bono work,” Managing Partner Matt Kaiser said. “KaiserDillon is committed to doing pro bono work in our community and in our nation. Designating a single point person to coordinate our work is a concrete way of making that commitment come to life.”

Emily has an active practice representing people under federal investigation, in various criminal and civil matters, and campus disciplinary cases. She previously worked in the Special Litigation Division at D.C.’s Public Defender Service and, before that, was a supervisor at the Orleans Public Defenders.

“I’m very excited to step into this role,” Emily said. “As skilled attorneys, we owe a duty to our community to provide quality pro bono legal representation. I’m proud to be at a firm that recognizes that.”

KaiserDillon’s prior pro bono representations have included successfully freeing incarcerated people in compassionate release cases under the First Step Act, defending a high-profile activist in a civil commitment case, drafting and filing amicus briefs on issues of legislative branch authority and overcriminalization, and the representation of a number of Iranians who were caught in Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport when the Trump Administration’s Muslim ban was first implemented, among other representations
